Speargun Size Guide
How to Choose the Right Speargun Size
Selecting the right speargun length comes down to visibility, target species, hunting environment, and how you want the gun to handle in the water. Here is our guide to choosing the right Spitfire for your diving style.
Spitfire Size Recommendations
55cm Single Roller
Best for: Tight structure, close-range hunting, limited visibility, and fast target acquisition
Ideal targets: Sheepshead, tautog, triggerfish, and similar structure-oriented species
Where it shines: Bridges, jetties, pier structure, tight wreck interiors, and any dive where maneuverability matters most
The 55cm is our most compact and agile gun. When shots happen fast and space is tight, this is the right tool.
75cm Single Roller
Best for: General structure hunting, mixed conditions, and divers who want one versatile gun
Ideal targets: Spadefish, sheepshead, black sea bass, and other all-around reef and structure species
Where it shines: Artificial reefs, mixed structure, wreck exteriors, and medium-visibility days
The 75cm is the most versatile gun in the lineup. It balances reach and maneuverability better than anything else we make.
90cm Single Roller
Best for: Open structure, cleaner water, and divers who want more range without stepping into a large offshore gun
Ideal targets: Cobia, spadefish, and larger reef species
Where it shines: Open reefs, large wreck exteriors, and longer mid-water shots
The 90cm gives you more reach while staying easy to hunt with. It is the natural next step when shorter guns start to feel limiting.
110cm Double Roller
Best for: Offshore structure, stronger fish, and divers who want crossover power
Ideal targets: Cobia, king mackerel, tuna, and other stronger offshore species
Where it shines: Offshore wrecks, deep structure, and cleaner open-water shots
The 110cm is where serious power starts. It gives you more authority on bigger fish without jumping all the way to a dedicated blue-water gun.
130cm Double Roller
Best for: Blue-water hunting, maximum range, and large pelagics
Ideal targets: Tuna, wahoo, trophy cobia, and other pelagics
Where it shines: Clear water, offshore hunting, and long shots where underpowered gear gets exposed fast
The 130cm is the flagship. If you want maximum reach and maximum penetration, this is the tool.
